The Movie Career of Mark Strange, Film Producer and
Actor.
During 2006 Sifu Mark Strange finally came to the conclusion
that he must spend more time to push his movie career onwards and upwards,
and with regret he had to come to the hard decision to stop teaching
chinese martial arts in a class setting to his local student following
around Leyland and Lancashire. Whether or not he ever returns to teach
full time, he is still as dedicated to the martial arts as he ever was,
and may still be available, time permitting, for private
tuition.
Mark has made several appearances upon tv and has been
interviewed many times on the radio since his martial arts adventure
began so many years ago now (see about
Mark Strange), but the one early tv appearance that stands out for
me was his appearance upon chinese tv, on a visit there, upon which
he demonstrated chinese spear technique ;)
At about this time Mark started to catch the eye of producers
and agents and his movie career began to take off with small support
parts in films, including "The Medallion", featuring Jackie
Chan, Lee Evans and Julian Sands. Wishing for more involvement Mark
got together with Lancashire film producer and director, Martin Holland,
just before the new millenium, and work began upon "Displaced",
which was based upon a short story by my sister Carol Strange, and is
the first feature length film produced by Mark and Martin under the
Skylandian Pictures banner. He hasn't looked back since, except perhaps
with fond memories of the friends he has made upon his journey so far.
